The Sangiovese is an Italian varietal and it is medium in weight and well-structured wine. The amphorae influence gives this wine a more fragrant nose and perfumed upfront fruit with cherries and raspberries on the palate. It has a fleshy palate that opens up with aeration. Being an Italian wine it is excellent with food particularly tomato-based pasta, gourmet pizzas and other Italian-style foods.
